But.....
My friend/housemate moved out and is headed to Utah now ;_; but we threw this epic party for him. I haven't been so smashed for over 3 months! I was balancing myself (booze consumption to time duration) pretty well, managed to make it through the night without hugging the toilet.
To give you an idea on how much booze was there. I spent 54 bucks on vodka, tequilla and triple sec, on top of what I had left at home, and my friend spent another 54 on beer, good beer, almost 3 cases of beer. He also bought "dos boote" which is the 3-liter boot shaped cup, where we passed around for everyone drink. Beer pong, chasing each other down the block with foam sticks.
Now I'm on the "I'm in your fridge eating your fUdz" diet, basically I'm eating whatever was left behind so they won't spoil.
And of course ID4, the party was the day before, I managed to wake up to go to Beth's for the epic 12-egg omelette
I had to go to work the next day at the airport doing paper pushing work, while I'm in my "holding pattern" I can do whatever I want as long as it isn't NSFW. So I drew some Touhou sketches or play chess with the other part-timer that shows up on weekends. I can beat him if I don't screw up my moves too much. In fact, I would lose when I get blind-sided though haste. He has never out-manuvered me yet. One of the games was rather interesting, I pulled an "en passant" on him, which evidently he didn't know that there was such a rule, so I told him to look it up, after reading the article, he resigned, cause at that point I would have gotten another queen and the game would snowball down the hill in my favor. I like working there, since my boss buys everyone in the office lunch pretty often, cause we're all to busy to go out for lunch. I'm going to miss that perk when cherry season is over and I get released from his service.
I got thrown a bone!
Figuratively, metaphorically,
So as we all know too well, once you have not more schooling to do, you have to start finding work to sustain yourself. With crappy economy, the market is very grim. I've been kinda on a slump on many things since graduation. To find work under such circumstances requires luck and the will to do everything.
I've just gotten accepted into working with a company called Volt, guess what they do? that's right, test video games. I don't know what the job is going to be like but I'm not going to be very hopeful on playing really cool video games. Maybe eventually. Since I've heard that game testing is a deceptively shitty job. I'm just looking foreward to meeting people and having income. I don't think it's going to be too bad.
One of my friends describe it as the "grocery store equivalent job for nerds" At least they pay over minimum wage
The job is a contract job however, but I'm sure I can get it extended or get transferred to another project. I'm going to use this time to wait out the recession. I've basically bought myself some time to find something better. My mother would tell me that "you must ride the mule to get the horse" so I hope to start climbing from this point.
As what my other friend said the other day, "I felt like I've seen the end of an era" After college and getting a job and seeing your friends move out of the state for other things. Now I feel that I might be seeing "the end of an era" as well.
More on my "life journal" as it further develops.
