this week's deviation finished in a timely manner.
This one is one of my better ones in my opinion. I think something is different in this one compared to my other ones. I'm not sure but it does look better. probably more consistent shading. :D

The original sketch was a bit 'off' where the body is smaller than the head (or the head is pretty large) I enlarged the body to be a bit more proportioned. Vector paths FTW! :XD:

About the lance it was my first attempt to color and draw the lance. I referenced it from a googled pic hope it doesn't take away from the picture.

what can I say, I'm a sucker for hawt girz :3
(now if only I can find a girlfriend lol)

If you think that the background could use work let me know I just couldn't think of what to do :( I'm going probably have this in my library of stuff that I'll display at Sakura Con

Very nice work! I think the proportions are pretty good; it's a good thing you fixed it up then (if you say the head was bigger than the body). Not as much detailed compared to your other work, but this kind of simplicity makes this piece nice. I like how you colored her Lance. As for the background, I think it's fine. Any more detailed, it will probably take away the focus on Rei.

Oh, a classic character! XD Nice. Her hips and leg are very well-drawn (must learn to draw hips myself...) and the shading is good. However, her head seems to be oval-shaped in width, not in height as it should be.

If you're still seeking a background, I think it should be something dark against which she stands out. Like outer space. Or you could have this version and an alternate background. Since I just noticed the blue bg behind her white outfit fading into white where her hair is blue, which is a nice touch.

when I was thinking of a dark background I didn't want it to look super-imposed. (I had the idea of using the night sky and moon in the background, but the idea came after I shaded everything so the lighting orientation is completely not right. so I stuck with a more thematic color scheme for the background.

The oval shape was a result of me trying to get her head lowered. Perspectives might be off a bit.

Yeah, it would probably look rather artificial to have the night sky as a bg here.

I really like this picture of Miss Ayanami! I think the blue background suits her very well. Goes with her white plug suit. Great work with the lance too.
